Flamingo
The family of phœnicoptéridés (or Phoenicopteridae) comprises 3 types often merged into one and five to six species of flamingoes.

Often ranked in any particular order, that of phœnicoptériformes, classification of the Sibley & Monroe now range in the order of ciconiiformes.

They are gregarious birds that are encountered in both the Old and New World. They are more numerous in the latter, but America has four species, as opposed to two for the Old World. They are found in South and Central America, Africa, Southern Europe and the Middle East.

The flamingos live in groups in wetlands. They inhabit the waters shallow, normally salty, brackish or alkaline, both on the coast than inland sea level up to approximately 5000 meters above sea level.
