Russian Blue Cat
The Russian Blue is a breed of cat, also known as "blue Arkhangelsk" or "Maltese". It is characterized by a thick and fluffy coat, a silver-blue, and green eyes.

Origin and History
Its origins are controversial:

* It might be originating in the Russian port of Arkhangelsk and have been introduced in England in the 1860's by seamen, hence its nickname of "Blue" Arkhangelsk, and the name of Russian Blue set out today, hui.
* It could also come from the Mediterranean basin and have a common origin with the Carthusian, and it led to sometimes nicknamed "cat" or "Maltese cat Spanish blue."

In France, the Russian Blue made his first appearance in 1925 under the name of "Chat of Malta." But after the Second World War, he disappeared almost completely, but was "saved" by the British and the Scandinavians who transformed by crossing the blue with Russian Siamese: race it lost its original style, and then returned to a more formal style pure "in the 60's.

Characteristics
There are two "types" of Bleus. There is the English model with a small nose, ears straight, dark gray coat and emerald eyes. Then the American model, which has a coat slightly clearer than the English model, ears more on the side of the skull and of course beautiful green eyes as his cousin-type English.

The color of her dress is blue, but there are also very few varieties of blue Russian black and white, as well as a variety haired mid-long, Nebelung.

Some people also often confuse the Blue Russian with the Carthusians or Korat.

Character
The Russian blue cat is quite lively. Discreet, miaulement is sweet and melodious. Casanier and suspicious of foreigners, we could forget it was not as tender toward his master, which he loves. He particularly dislikes the noise nor the children because he prefers his quiet, and a quiet family life.
